The Best Daddy in the World

Dear Daddy’s Girl,

Since the first time Mommy and Daddy went out Mommy knew that your Dada would be a great father. Every day I am impressed with what an amazing dad he is to you. He loves you so much, you can tell it in the way he talks to you, hugs you, and how proud he is of you. One of my favorite things is watching your face light up when he walks into the room. You truly are a Daddy’s girl; your Daddy got your first smile, your first belly laugh, your first word, and everyone says you look just like him. There is no question how much you love him. We are so blessed to have your Daddy and all the other great men in our lives.

Love,

Sitting is for Babies

Dear Stander,

The day has come that your crib had to be dropped. You are no longer a sitter, you’re officially a stander. You decided you weren’t quite ready for bed one night, so when Mommy went to check on you were you standing up peeking over the railing with a big smile! You now have no interest in sitting down anymore, any opportunity you get to pull up on some you do. You love to pull up on the couch when your Daddy is watching TV and give him a big smile and sometimes a slobbery kiss. Each milestone make Mommy a little sad, soon you’ll be walking and then one, then a toddler…. where did my baby go?

No No No...

Dear Trouble,

You make Mommy and Daddy laugh so much. Your new favorite thing to do is when Mommy says "No No Kenzie" you stop look at us and laugh while you shake your head. I don't think you quiet get the concept of no yet. :) I have a feeling this is just the begining of you laughing at us.

Love,
   Mama and Dada

This is a video of you playing with some of your favorite toys. You also laugh at MaMa when she say No No to pulling the curtains.

Memorial Day Cook Out Circuit

Dear Social Butterfly,

You are such a great baby; you love being out and about seeing new things and socializing with all your friends. We did a lot of socializing this weekend to celebrate Memorial Day. Saturday we went to Mimi’s house, they had a huge cook out. Papa Russ made some of the best ribs ever, you’ll have to wait until next year to taste them. You got to meet Ms Vickie, play with your friend Caleb, and spent some time with your family.

After the cook out with the family we headed to IV’s parents house for a Memorial Day Hootany. All your buddies were there, Avery, Hadley, Hudson, Brayden, Olivia, IV and so many other new friends. One little boy even had a helmet just like yours! We put you both on a blanket to play, neither of you seemed to notice that the other had a helmet, you were more interested in climbing over him. Parties were a little different before you and all your friends were invited, they started around the time they end now!

Sunday we continued with the Memorial Day cook out circuit with Nami, Grandbobby, and your cousins Harper and Hadley. After an hour of preparation we headed to the pool at the golf club. Grandbobby and you splashed and splash in the fountain in the baby pool, then you practiced your swimming in the big pool with Dad. After lots of fun in the sun we head home for a cook out with Uncle Marty and the soon to be Mr. and Mrs. Carson Foushee.

The long holiday weekend ended perfectly with some family time cleaning the basement (Daddy is working on making you a special room for all your toys), then the last cook out of the weekend at Jack and Jacey’s down the street. You got to go swimming again and laughed and smiled at all of your new friends.
I hope you’re not disappointed this weekend when we get back into the laundry and grocery shopping routine. You are such a delight to be around, you love going new places and meeting new friends. We are all so blessed to live in a country that we have the freedom to relax and celebrate.

Love,

Milestone Madness

Dear Overachiever,

This week was full of FIRST! Thursday you officially became a crawler!! The FIRST time you decided to crawl was when your daddy came home from the office, you were so excited to see him you lifted your little arms and legs together and crawled across the room!!

Enjoying a teething biscuit

Friday you continued with first with your very FIRST tooth! We had been worried about you all week because you were refusing to eat your solid foods (even your favorites, bananas and sweet potatoes), you kept shaking your head no when we tried to feed you. Mommy didn’t know it, but you were trying to tell us that that your little mouth hurt. Fortunately after your bottom front tooth poped out you were back to normal.

My favorite FIRST of the week happened on Saturday, you said “MaMa”! It is the sweetest thing I have ever heard. It melts Mama’s heart!

It amazes us how quickly you are learning new things. We are sad that you are growing up so quickly, but at the same time we can’t wait to see what you do next.

We love our little crawler, teether, and talker so much!

Love,
  MaMa and Dada

Look at those legs! Soon you'll be walking!

Every Princess Needs A Crown!

Dear Princess,
When you were 2 months old, we started noticing that you always turn your head to your right when you were lying on your back and because of this were developing a “flat spot” on the back, right side of your head.  To try to correct this, we took you to CHOA to have the expert therapist look at it.  They diagnosed you with Torticolis, which simply means that your neck muscles were developing at different rates.  It sounds worse than it actually is.  To help it we were given exercises to do with you to strengthen your neck muscles (which really only constituted mommy and daddy making funny faces and noises on your left to get you to look that way) and tried to keep you off of your right side when we laid you on your back (which was more difficult than it sounds because you tended to always roll to your right).

Well, after 4 months of exercises and a few head scans to measure the improvement to the shape of your head, the doctors recommended that it was best to use the helmet to help “fix the flat.”
.
We think you look really cute with it on, your big blue eyes pop out even more now! We hope the next 3 months pass quickly for you so that we can get back to putting bows in your hair (don’t worry, mommy got some velcro to put them on your helmet for now).

Love,

More Puffs Please!

Dear Puff Queen
This week you have found a new favorite snack…..PUFFS.  You are absolutely fascinated by them and it is so funny to watch you eat them.  At first, you would pick them up and then try frantically to position them in those little hands to get them into your mouth.  You drop about half of them between trying to get them positioned just right and them sticking to your slobbery hands, but you don’t miss a beat and just grab for more and try again.  Seeing you were having a little trouble, mommy of course had to jump in to help out.  She thought she would hand you a puff and she put one in her hand and laid it in front of you for you to more easily grab, but you had a better and more efficient idea.  Seeing the puff in her hand, you dove your mouth down to take it directly out of mommy’s hand.  It was hilarious and quite a smart move.  This week we sent puffs to school with you and the first time Miss Carissa gave them to you, she placed her hand out for you to grab one but you had seen this before and knew just what to do.  You once again dove down mouth first and took the puff directly out of her hand.  All of the teachers were laughing at your technique and Ms Carisia now calls you the "little hen".

Love,
   The People with the Puffs

You also love "drinking" from your new sippy cup. You end up soaking wet!

Since you did so well with Puffs, we let you try to feed yourself cereal. You had a lot of fun, good thing it was bath night.
